Asda launches huge selection of Christmas delights – featuring party foods from 40p per serving
Asda has unveiled its latest festive offerings with a sirloin steak fondue partnered alongside Wyke Farm Vintage Cheddar Bake, priced at £15 being the main feature.
The premium sharing dish, which serves four, features tender British sirloin steaks that have been matured for 30 days.
The supermarket chain has shared a series of offers for customers, giving them the option of combining three high-end items like the Butter Chicken Samosas, Chorizo & Nduja Mac & Cheese Cups, and Brie Wedges with Fig Whisky & Spiced Honey Dip, shoppers can save £5.50 off the £16.50 total.
This brings the cost down to £11 for all three items, which is approximately 40p per serving across 26 portions.
Senior innovation chef at Asda, Rich Harding, explained the renewed popularity of fondue. He said: “Fondue isn’t just food; it’s an experience.
“It combines comfort, indulgence, and interaction, making it the perfect centrepiece for festive gatherings.
“Guests can participate by dipping their favourite foods into a communal pot of rich, melted cheese, fostering a sense of togetherness.”
Rich suggested several creative dipping options beyond the traditional bread and vegetables, including sausages, gherkins, roast potatoes, mushrooms, apples and pretzels.
He also recommended experimenting with additional ingredients like tomato purée for umami, mustard for tang, or fresh herbs such as thyme, chives or parsley for added aroma.
Asda also launched several other party food items this festive season, including their Butter Chicken Samosas.
The samosas, which scored 85/100 in The Good Housekeeping Institute’s 2024 Christmas canapé test, feature chicken thigh in butter sauce with a double-battered crispy coating.
The supermarket has introduced grazing platters, including the Mediterranean Grazing Platter and Italian Antipasti Platter, both serving six people for £7 – working out at just over £1 per person.
