America treated Kate’s health like ‘another episode of The Crown’ – Lee Cohen
Americans were ‘swept away’ by intrigue surrounding Princess Kate’s whereabouts, a royal commentator has claimed.
Lee Cohen joined Nana Akua on GBN America after the future Queen announced her cancer diagnosis which put months of speculation regarding her wellbeing to bed.
He blasted the general reaction from the majority of the American public, saying the saga was treated like ‘another episode of The Crown’.
“The missing Princess saga generated significant interest and investment from a derelict sector of the American public”, he said.
“They were drawn to the vilest gossip and human drama surrounding what turned out to be a very sad situation for the beloved princess.
“Some of us watched in horror as many Americans were seemed swept away by Palace intrigue, as though none of this were nothing but another episode of The Crown.

“It was all the more mortifying, of course, when Princess Catherine made her statement.”
The moving statement from Kate saw the Princess break her silence after planned abdominal surgery in January.
The 42-year-old said she needed to recover from surgery before undergoing ‘preventative chemotherapy’.
“This of course came as a huge shock”, she said.
“William and I have been doing everything we cn to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”
The King paid tribute to his ‘beloved’ daughter-in-law after the news broke.
Charles said he was “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did”.
Cohen said he ‘apologises’ for the reaction afforded by many American celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian, who was criticised for making an ‘insensitive’ post about Kate ahead of her cancer revelation.
“I apologise for them thinking they never would do so, but to my great astonishment, some of them have”, he said.
“I suspect it’s because they were experiencing a blow to their own popularity.
“A lot of them probably won’t though because a lot of them, probably often on social media, know how it is.
“If you say sorry, then people will come for you even more so.”
