All American Airlines flights GROUNDED after major ‘technical issue’
All American Airlines have been grounded as result of a major “technical issue” with the airline.
The company did not provide a reason for the chaos, but travellers have taken to social media to express concern over the disruption to their Christmas journeys.
Earlier, the airline shared a statement online, which read: “An estimated timeframe has not been provided, but they’re trying to fix it in the shortest possible time.”
Additionally, the Federal Aviation Agency has flagged that American Airlines was reporting “a technical issue and has requested a nationwide ground stop”.
As a result, passengers across the country are stranded as the largest airline to mend a “technical issue” on Christmas Eve.
The airline said: “We’re currently experiencing a technical issue with all American Airlines flights.”
“Your safety is our utmost priority, once this is rectified, we’ll have you safely on your way to your destination.
“Our team is working to get this rectified so that you can be safely on your way to your family. Your continued patience is appreciated.”

Today’s incident – on one of the busiest days of the year – has taken place mere months after all of the airline’s flights were grounded.
This outage – which affected a number of airlines on July 19 – occurred as a result of an international IT crash which was caused by a software update from cybersecurity organisation Crowdstrike.
