‘Abject hypocrisy!’ Martin Daubney clashes with Labour MP over Starmer’s Ukraine ‘obsession’ as pensioners freeze
Watch the moment GB News host Martin Daubney clashes with Labour MP Mike Tapp over the Government’s “obsession” with Ukraine.
According to Martin, Keir Starmer and Labour’s top brass should be focusing their efforts on matters closer to home like Britain’s flailing economy and pensioners struggling with rising energy bills.
“Many people feel we can’t stop problems washing up on our shores, why are we still so obsessed with Ukraine?”, Martin asked.
Tapp said Martin was making a “false equivalence” as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could end up having a direct impact on Britain.
He argued ordinary Britons will inevitably feel an economic pinch from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as they already have.
“We’ve seen the insecurities this war that this war has dealt on this country”, he said.

Martin said Britain, along with other leading European nations, has done “literally nothing” to try and stop the war.
The Labour MP said Ukraine has been able to continue fending Russia off bravely thanks to Britain being stalwart in its support of its efforts.
“It’s important we remain behind Ukraine but of course, we have to move towards peace”, he said.
“The honest broker bridge role Keir Starmer has been playing has been vital to this. The fact the communications between Trump and Zelensky are back on may be thanks to the prime minister.”
Martin asked Tapp if he “honestly thinks that”, suggesting his view of Britain’s role in proceedings is overblown.
“He’s [Zelensky] come back on his knees because he knows that the future has to involve Donald Trump”, he said.
Tapp hit back: “We certainly need peace. That involves Zelensky, it involves Putin, it involves Trump.
“It also involves Sir Keir Starmer leading in Europe. He’s had 15 nations over the weekend in this country looking to form that coalition of the willing so we can underpin any agreement with security so the Russians can’t go further.”
Martin put it to Tapp that many of the so-called ‘coalition of the willing’ are not as forthcoming in their support as suggested.
He added: “Germany has pumped billions of euros into Putin’s pockets. It’s abject hypocrisy.
“They funded the war and now they’re not even a part of the solution.”
Tapp responded: “Europe has put a lot of money into helping Ukraine defend itself.
“There will be a strong coalition of the willing. We have to be careful. It’s all very difficult and there’s lots of diplomacy, that has to be built and Keir Starmer is leading on that.”
