‘What are you laughing at!’ GB News guest hits out as she’s mocked for speaking on Christianity: ‘I’ll pray for you don’t you worry!’

GB News guest Clare Muldoon was mocked for a phrase used while discussing the process of converting to Christianity.

It comes amid “disingenuous” claims from migrants seeking to boost their chances of remaining in the UK by converting.

Muldoon told Eamonn Holmes and Isabel Webster of how the process is an intricate one and cannot be rushed through.

But her train of thought was halted by a sniggering Eamonn as a particular turn of phrase tickled him.

“It takes a lot of time to convert”, she said.

“It takes at least 9-12 months of the RCIA and the Catholic Church to convert, and then these people are converted at the Easter Vigil which is a huge thing.

“Also, you’ve got a lot of years of thinkering and pondering about it.”

She then stopped to ask Eamonn “what he’s laughing at”.

“I wasn’t laughing”, he insisted.

“I’ll pray for you, don’t you worry about that”, she responded.

Muldoon’s ire was irked by a story regarding faked conversion, with political commentator Alex Armstrong sharing similar sentiments.

“People are on TikTok giving tips on how to get citizenship in the UK and live off the state”, he said.

“This is a problem. I don’t understand why that the Government know there are illegal immigrants doing this.”

Muldoon added: “I absolutely abhor it. We are coming up to one of the biggest feasts in the Christian calendar [Easter].”

GB News host Isabel Webster waded into the question to defend the Church, asking: “How are they supposed to know, if someone comes to them asking to convert, are vicars meant to turn them away?”

MPs are quizzing senior church leaders about how conversions are being used to bolster asylum claims at a hearing today.
