Andrew Tate and brother Tristan detained under UK arrest warrant for ‘sexual aggression’

Andrew Tate has appeared in court in Romania pending an investigation into allegations of sexual aggression.

Tate, alongside his brother Tristan, was brought into court in Bucharest on a UK arrest warrant.

The internet personality was indicted in June in Romania along with his brother and two Romanian women for human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women.

The pair, who gained notoriety by promoting an ultra-masculine lifestyle, have denied all allegations.

A PR spokesperson for the brothers said: “Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate were forcibly detained for 24 hours and handed a European arrest warrant by UK authorities.

“The charges, dating back to 2012-2015, include allegations of sexual aggression.”

“The Bucharest Court of Appeal is slated to make a pivotal decision today on whether to execute the mandate.”

In January, Bucharest’s Court of Appeal overturned a previous decision to seize their assets.

Tate rose to infamy when he was removed from Big Brother in 2016 over a video that appeared to show him attacking a woman with a belt. He has denied the claim, saying the clip was edited.

He became controversial with his statements on male self-improvement, saying that women “belong in the home” and referred to women as “property” of men.
