Meghan Markle told she ‘could have got a lot more kudos’ as Charles Rae blasts major decision by Sussexes
Meghan Markle “could have got a lot more kudos” for her work had she carried it out as a member of the Royal Family, according to a royal commentator.
Speaking on GB News, Charles Rae lashed out at the Sussexes’ decision to step back from royal duties after Princess Kate risked Meghan’s wrath.
The future Queen shared her preserve jam recipe with a young royal fan, a move seen by many as an overlap with Meghan’s lifestyle brand.
Rae told GB News that Meghan could have been carrying out her current lines of work while embracing royal life.
“You’ve got jam wars going on”, he told Patrick Christys.
“She could have done the exact same as Catherine and donated the jam to various people.

“Everything she is doing, apart from the various television programmes she has been involved in, she could have done quite easily within the Royal Family.
“She would have got a lot more kudos for it.”
Kate revealed she makes homemade plum jam during a visit to Wales on Wednesday.
The Princess of Wales offered to share her recipe with young volunteers at the Meadow Street Community Garden and Woodland in Pontypridd.
Upon learning the youngsters were growing plums to make jam, Kate immediately offered: “I’ll send you my recipe so you can try it.”
The royal couple were touring the community garden which overlooks the River Taff, meeting with locals affected by devastating floods that hit the area in 2024.
This marked their first joint away-day in Wales since the Princess completed her cancer treatment.
Prince William was quick to praise his wife’s preserves during the visit, describing her jam as “amazing”.
The mother-of-three has a history with homemade preserves, having reportedly given strawberry jam and plum preserve as Christmas presents in 2012.
The couple wore daffodils for the meaningful outing, their second joint appearance of the year.
Kate’s jam revelation comes as her sister-in-law, Duchess Meghan, prepares to launch her lifestyle brand “As Ever” this spring.
The brand is expected to include jam products among its offerings.
“Of course there will be fruit preserves,” Meghan said in a recent Instagram announcement video. “I think we’re all clear at this point that jam is my jam.”
The timing of Kate’s jam recipe offer has sparked speculation of a potential “jam rivalry” between the royal in-laws.
While Kate offers her recipe freely, Meghan’s venture is commercial in nature, with her brand set to sell various lifestyle products.
