Jessica Alba, 43, confirms divorce from husband of 16 years as she breaks silence on split with candid statement
Jessica Alba has confirmed her split from husband Cash Warren after 16 years of marriage, announcing they are embarking on “a new chapter” as individuals.
The 43-year-old actress shared a statement on Instagram yesterday addressing the end of their relationship.
“I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years – both as an individual and in partnership with Cash,” Alba wrote.
She continued: “I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals.”
The Fantastic Four star emphasised their commitment to moving forward “with love, kindness and respect for each other,” adding that they “will forever be family.”
Alba and Warren’s relationship began in 2004 when they met on the set of Fantastic Four, where Alba starred as Susan Storm whilst Warren worked as an assistant to director Tim Story.
Warren famously slipped Alba a note on set, signed with a dollar sign to match his name, saying “I really, really like you.”
The couple decided to elope whilst Alba was nine months pregnant with their first child.
They wed in Los Angeles in May 2008, marking what would become a 16-year marriage.
Recent reports indicated the couple had separated last year, with Alba being spotted without her wedding ring at recent events, including W Magazine’s Best Performances party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.
The actress has reportedly retained a divorce attorney, though formal proceedings have not been confirmed.
The couple share three children together: daughters Honor, 16, and Haven, 13, and son Hayes, seven.
In their separation announcement, both Alba and Warren emphasised that their children remain their “highest priority” during this transition.
The pair have requested privacy during this period as they navigate their new family dynamic.
Their commitment to co-parenting was evident earlier this month when they came together to celebrate their son Hayes’ birthday, with Alba sharing family moments on social media.
The former couple had previously marked significant family milestones together, including their daughter Honor’s 16th birthday and Haven’s 13th birthday in recent months.
