Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issue secret message to inner circle amid Archie and Lilibet privacy concerns
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released two distinctly different holiday cards this season, with one for public viewing and another kept private.
The Archewell Foundation’s official greeting features rare glimpses of Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, alongside highlights from the couple’s professional year.
A second, more personal card has been sent exclusively to close friends and family members, according to People Magazine.
The public Archewell card struck a formal tone, with its greeting reading: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy Holiday Season and a Happy New Year.”
The card showcased professional moments, including photographs from their four-day Colombia visit in August.
Both children were photographed at a distance, facing away from the camera, reinforcing the couple’s commitment to protecting their privacy.
This year’s approach marks a departure from their previous, more intimate holiday greetings.
Their 2021 Christmas card provided the public’s first glimpse of baby Lilibet Diana and showed Archie’s face clearly.
In 2019, the couple shared an endearing image of baby Archie crawling towards the camera.
Despite stepping down as working royals in 2020, the Sussexes have maintained their tradition of releasing annual Christmas cards.
The private card, which will not be released publicly, is expected to offer more intimate insights into the Sussex family life.
This personal greeting follows the style of their previous cards, which were notably more intimate in nature.
The decision to maintain two separate cards allows the couple to balance their public foundation work while preserving private family moments for their inner circle.

In the couple’s public Christmas card, a previously unseen member of the Sussex household features – their rescue dog Mamma Mia.
The heartwarming image shows the young royal children running into their parents’ arms, with Mamma Mia visible alongside the family.
The beagle joined the Sussexes’ California home in Montecito in August 2022, where she lives with their other dogs – fellow beagle Guy and a black Labrador believed to be called Pula.
Mamma Mia was adopted from the Beagle Freedom Project, an organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals used in experimental research.
