Briton becomes third biggest National Lottery winner of all time after securing £177m EuroMillions jackpot
A UK ticket-holder has claimed a staggering £177million EuroMillions jackpot, becoming the third-biggest National Lottery winner in history.
The anonymous winner came forward to claim their life-changing prize following the draw on November 26.
The massive windfall was confirmed by National Lottery operator Allwyn on Tuesday, just in time for the festive season.
The fortunate ticket-holder has opted to remain anonymous as they begin their journey as one of Britain’s newest multi-millionaires.
The exact amount paid to the winner was £177,033,699.20, Allwyn confirmed.
The incredible jackpot has catapulted the winner into an elite group of Britain’s wealthiest individuals.
Their new fortune far exceeds that of pop superstar Dua Lipa, whose wealth is estimated at £104million.
The winner’s jackpot is also nearly three times the estimated £63million fortune of singer Michael Bublé.

Andy Carter, senior winners adviser at Allwyn, expressed his delight at the massive payout.
“We’re absolutely over the moon that this life-changing EuroMillions jackpot prize has been paid,” he said.
Carter highlighted the perfect timing of the win during the festive period.
He added: “The possibilities with this kind of money are endless, and what an excellent time to win such a prize, right before Christmas.”
Cater also suggested the winner could celebrate with “winter sun or a festive shopping trip to New York”.
“Whatever this winner decides to do with their winnings, our focus is now on supporting the ticket-holder through the process,” Carter added.
The latest winner joins an exclusive club of Britain’s biggest lottery winners.
The current record for a EuroMillions jackpot is held by an anonymous UK ticket-holder who won £195million in July 2022.
Joe and Jess Thwaite, from Gloucester, were named as the second biggest winners.
The Gloucestershire couple secured £184,262,899 with a Lucky Dip ticket in the draw in May 2022.
Their win had briefly held the record for the largest UK lottery prize before being surpassed two months later.
