Five people dead and five others injured after ‘student’ opens fire at US school shooting
Five people have died and five more have been injured after a juvenile opened fire at a school in the US.
The suspected attacker, who is also dead, is said to be a student at the Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, Wisconsin.
Police responded to the school at around 11am local time to a call of an active shooter at the school.
Multiple victims were found with gunshot wounds and seven were rushed to hospital.
Residents have been asked to avoid the areas and roads around the school have been closed.
Authorities remain at the school.
Police Chief Barnes said: “Today is a sad, sad today not only for Madison, for our entire country. We have to do better.”
An investigation remains active and ongoing.
The White House reported that President Joe Biden has been briefed on the situation.
