“I can’t see anything, I can’t read anything, I can’t watch anything,” the singer explained, highlighting the severity of his condition.

Despite these challenges, John reassured fans about his overall health during the Good Morning America interview.

“David and I always have our blood tests every six months in Los Angeles. Our health has never been better,” he quipped when asked to put worried fans at ease.

However, the eye condition has impacted his ability to create new music. “I can do something like this, but going into the studio and recording I don’t know because I can’t see a lyric for a start,” he explained.

The impact of John’s vision problems was evident during his recent performance with Dua Lipa at the Royal Albert Hall on October 17.

Throughout their duet of “Cold Heart”, the singer remained seated for most of the performance, only briefly standing during the final chorus.

A production assistant was seen guiding John off stage afterwards, with the singer needing to be carefully escorted.

Despite these challenges, concertgoers reported that his vocals remained “strong and compelling”, with one telling the Mail his performance “filled the hall with emotion”.

In September, the singer first revealed his eyesight issues through an Instagram post, explaining his summer health battle.

“Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye,” he wrote.
