Nigel Farage mocks ‘woke’ Christmas crackers that don’t bang for the sake of the environment

Nigel Farage drew focus on GB News today to “woke” Christmas crackers that have lost their ‘bang’ in a bid to save the environment.

Festivities face a lack of banging noises this year as traditional snaps are removed from recyclable crackers.

Last year, Alliance National announced it will offer only environmentally friendly crackers to its customers.

The company axed Christmas crackers with silver fulminate strips which give the crackers their snapping noise.

Speaking on the People’s Channel, the Reform MP got out a couple of crackers for his GB News panel to pull.

“I went to a big Christmas event last week and there were crackers”, he said.

“I love Christmas crackers and I’m sure you do at home too. At that event, and also on sale at the Commons are woke Christmas crackers.

“They are Christmas crackers without any cracker in them.

“Who wants to buy a Christmas cracker that doesn’t crack?”

The crackers, which were originally released last year, have a note inside saying the move is “part of our journey to make every Christmas a celebration of responsibility”.

It says on its e-commerce website, Alliance Online, that the eco-friendly crackers will reassure people they are “doing something right for the environment”.

Nigel Farage is currently enjoying a boom in British politics with his party Reform UK with many within his circle backing him to become next Prime Minister.

Reform UK chairman Zia Yusuf boldly declared that Nigel Farage will become Britain’s next Prime Minister, following a dramatic surge in support for the party.

The prediction comes as Reform UK has overtaken Labour to claim second place in a recent Find Out Now poll, securing 24 per cent of voter support.

The poll, conducted four days ago, placed the Conservatives in first position with 26 per cent, while Labour dropped to third place with 23 per cent.

Reform UK’s rise has been meteoric, with Yusuf noting their growth from 8 per cent support and 15,000 members a year ago to current figures of “105,000 members” and “polling at between 22 and 24 per cent.”

“The underlying factors that have given rise to Nigel coming out of retirement, to so many people getting behind our movement in such an extraordinary way… are going to continue to deteriorate at an alarming rate,” said Yusuf.

He criticised the current government as “a bunch of over promoted student politicians who are captured by ideology.”

The surge follows recent record-breaking immigration figures and growing dissatisfaction with both major parties.
