Man mauled to death by ‘out of control’ dog in London as woman charged with dangerous dog offences
A man has died after being mauled by a dog in east London, with a woman now charged with dangerous dog offences.
The 42-year-old victim was fatally injured during the incident in Stratford in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Leanne McDonnell, 32, of Shirley Road, Stratford, has been charged with multiple offences, including owning a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the dog involved has been seized following the attack.
Officers were called to Shirley Road in Stratford at 4:53am on Wednesday following reports that a man had been seriously wounded.
The victim was rushed to hospital where he later died.
His family has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

The Met launched an immediate investigation into the incident.
McDonnell faces multiple charges, including failing in her duty as a person responsible for an animal to ensure its welfare.
She has also been charged with having custody of a fighting dog, an offence under UK law.
McDonnell has also been charged with three additional counts of owning a dog dangerously out of control causing no injury, relating to a separate incident on 18 November.
She has been remanded in custody following the charges.
The accused is scheduled to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
