EasyJet flight forced to make emergency landing after passengers suffers medical emergency

An easyJet flight from Sharm El-Sheikh to Manchester was forced to make an emergency landing in Venice after a passenger required urgent medical assistance.

Flight U22254 departed from the Egyptian resort at 8.05pm local time on Wednesday.

The aircraft was originally scheduled to arrive at Manchester Airport at 12.10am on Thursday.

However, a medical emergency on board meant the plane had to be diverted to Venice, where the affected passenger was transferred to hospital for treatment.

The remaining passengers eventually arrived at Manchester Airport at 1:35am on Thursday.

This meant the flight landed approximately 85 minutes later than its original scheduled arrival time.

After the medical emergency was handled in Venice, the flight resumed its journey to Manchester.
