Morrisons updates loyalty scheme in savings boost for supermarket shoppers: ‘More bang for your buck!’

Morrisons is set to reward loyal customers with five More Card Points on every single product purchased, both in-store and online, starting from today.

The supermarket chain’s enhanced loyalty scheme will apply across all Morrisons locations, including convenience stores and Amazon purchases.

This move represents a significant expansion of the More Card programme, allowing customers to earn points on their entire shop rather than just selected items.

The change means shoppers can now accumulate points more quickly towards claiming Morrisons Fivers, which can be used to save money on future purchases.

Under the More Card scheme, customers can collect points by scanning their card or app during purchases.

A total of 5,000 points unlocks a Morrisons Fiver, which can be spent on future shopping trips both in store and online.

The supermarket is also offering additional promotional points on selected items throughout December.

More Card holders can earn 50 points when purchasing any Morrisons The Best product during the festive month.

Beyond points collection, the loyalty scheme provides exclusive More Card Prices, offering significant discounts on both branded and essential items.

Morrisons Group’s marketing director Alex Rogerson emphasised the company’s commitment to customer value.

He shared: “We wanted to give customers even more bang for their buck when they shop with Morrisons, and now they’ll earn More Points on everything they buy.

“We remain committed to driving value for our customers however they shop with us, making it easier than ever to bag a Morrisons Fiver and save big while you shop.”

The nationwide rollout follows a successful trial period in Wales, where the enhanced points system was thoroughly tested.

More Card benefits can be accessed across Morrisons’ extensive retail network, including approximately 1,000 Morrisons Daily convenience stores and 500 supermarkets nationwide.

The loyalty scheme is also available through Morrisons.com and Morrisons on Amazon, providing flexibility for online shoppers.

Customers can easily spot loyalty scheme offers through clear in-store signage and shelf-edge labels. The deals are further promoted via in-store radio announcements, keeping shoppers informed while they browse.

More Card holders also receive regular updates about the latest deals through the Morrisons More app and dedicated customer emails.

For comparison, Tesco operates its own loyalty programme through the Clubcard scheme. Tesco Clubcard members earn points on their purchases which can be converted into shopping discounts.

Every 150 Clubcard points earned translates to a £1.50 discount for customers. The scheme offers exclusive deals for cardholders, similar to Morrisons’ More Card Prices initiative.
