Jacob Rees-Mogg’s red line while filming reality series revealed as wife hopes for ‘return to quiet life’

Jacob Rees-Mogg and his wife, Helena Rees-Mogg, have both revealed on GB News a clear rule production staff had to adhere to while working on their new reality TV series.

Meet The Rees-Moggs is a Discovery Plus series which lifts a lid on the life of the GB News star with unprecedented access to his home and work life.

Speaking on the People’s Channel, the couple revealed what they would not allow camera crew access to.

“It was very clear what they weren’t going to film”, said Jacob.

Helena responded: “You thankfully said, ‘fully dressed only but little trotters in pyjamas are fine’.

“Certainly everyone 13+ should be properly dressed and no bedrooms or bathrooms, thank goodness.”

Jacob added: “All adults should be properly dressed.”

Helena was asked by Jacob whether the experience has broadened her horizons to an extent where a future in reality TV may be in the offing.

But the GB News star’s wife ruled out such a prospect, even after being asked about potentially appearing on flagship BBC showpiece Strictly Come Dancing.

“Definitely not, I can’t really dance, unless you count reeling”, she said.

Asked about whether she has taken more interest in the Kardashians after dipping her toes into the waters of reality TV, she said: “I’m afraid I haven’t.

“The little I’ve seen of them, they all look extremely attractive. Considerably more so than us, I’m afraid.

“It’s back to the quiet life, with any luck. In as much as our life is ever quiet – you [Jacob] may have something to do with that, however.”

“Meet The Rees-Moggs”, streaming on Discovery+ from December 2, will take audiences inside his 17th Century Somerset mansion, Gourney Court.

The five-part series follows Rees-Mogg alongside his wife Helena and their six children in the period leading up to this year’s general election, where he lost his North East Somerset seat to Labour.

Speaking at a screening of the series, the 55-year-old revealed the show “came out of the blue” through an email.

“I thought it was a spoof when I first got it,” he said. “Who on earth would want to make a programme about the Rees-Mogg family?”

The former business secretary doesn’t expect the show to alter public perception, stating: “I don’t think I’ll change many people’s minds.”

“I think it is interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes with politicians,” he added.
