Jake Paul ready to ditch boxing after Mike Tyson fight and take up new venture
Jake Paul is ready to ditch his boxing career and move into a different sport, having already signed for a new label.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer beat Mike Tyson on Friday night at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas in front of 80,000 fans as millions watched on Netflix around the world.
However, the fight turned out to be something of a damp squib as it became apparent that Tyson was well past his sell-by date.
A somewhat obvious statement to make, considering that the former world heavyweight champion is 58 and Paul is 31 years younger than him.
Tyson landed just 18 punches throughout the eight rounds as Paul stayed out of range, hitting jabs with ease.
The Problem Child might have even been able to deal some real damage and delivered a knockout blow but admitted he did not want to as a sign of respect.
After moving 11-1 in his professional boxing record, suffering one defeat to Tommy Fury, Paul insisted he wanted to face Canelo Alvarez next.
However, that would be incredibly unlikely considering the cruiserweight legend has already dampened talk he would ever face Paul.
“Not at all. It isn’t [good for boxing],” Alvarez told TMZ in response to Paul’s fight against Tyson.
“I think Netflix is good for boxing, but for that fight especially, I think Netflix is doing something wrong there.”

However, Paul already has signed up to a new sport in MMA having penned a deal with PFL in 2022.
PFL CEO Peter Murray has already outlined that the groundwork is being put in place that will see Paul take part in his MMA debut in 2025.
Murray said: “I’m not sure if it’s going to be his very next fight in combat sports but he will debut in 2025.
“Look what Jake has proved in boxing; he’s an incredible athlete, he’s a pro boxer and he’s taken on some legit opponents and he has blazed his own trail.

“He’s going to do it the same way in MMA; he’s all about being an advocate for athletes and blazing new trails so he’s absolutely going to take on MMA and be as focused and dedicated as he is to boxing.”
MMA legend Francis Ngannou and boxing legend Claressa Shields are also some of the big-name acquisitions under PFL, which is hoping to rival the UFC in the coming years as the biggest mixed-martial arts label.

Paul has a longstanding feud with UFC president Dana White, having accused him of ripping off his roster by not paying them fairly and also insisted he was banned from UFC events.
White denied these claims, saying: “Nobody’s banned from the UFC. Listen, that kid knows how to market and do his thing and all that good s***. Jake Paul’s welcome to come to UFC.”
To which Paul replied: “He’s just saying that to make it seem like I wasn’t banned but definitely has sent an email to me saying I’m trespassed for all UFC events and I’m not welcome back. So, of course, Dana doing what he does best which is lie.”
