Parents targeted by sinister school run plot as saboteur leaves ‘boobytraps’ for parked cars
Parents are being targeted by a “school-run saboteur” who has been puncturing their cars’ wheels with “boobytraps”.
Whilst dropping off and picking up their kids at Creeting St Mary Church of England Primary School in Suffolk, several parents have been left with flat tyres thanks to the vandal who they believe is carrying out a “targeted campaign”.
The culprit has been leaving booby traps made of dog faeces, broken glass and rows of upturned nails, outside the gates of the school located in the sleepy Suffolk village.
An investigation has been launched after at least 10 of the 70 families whose children study there have reported punctures to their tyres, in what has been dubbed “Britain’s most bitter school run”.
Worried parents fear that children and pets could be hurt whilst walking down All Saints Road, a windy and narrow path that leads up to school which is attended by approximately 100 children.
Enraged parents have slammed the vandal or vandals who have been turning the school run into a nail-fueled nightmare.
Angharad, an NHS nurse, was forced to cancel all her patients appointments when three of her tyres were flattened by screws.
“There were six screws and nails stuck in it,” the 33-year-old told the Times: “I had literally only been on the school run that day, and nowhere else.”

Stephanie Wilson, whose son and daughter both attend the school, said: “It’s not like somebody has just dropped a bunch of nails. They’re stood up, sometimes with about six inches between each one, embedded in the grass and on the road as well.”
She also slammed the boobytraps as defunct, stating that drivers often “parked there multiple times and only later realised that must be why they had three punctures. So it’s not even a working deterrent. It’s completely irrational”.
Inci Kara, 40, who has a child at the school, added: “The nails are positioned upwards deliberately because they don’t want us to park here and that is worrying.’I know a lady who last year had to change four of her tyres because of this but now it is happening again.”
The village’s parish council clerk, Jennie Blackburn, has confirmed that the nails and screws appeared to have been placed “deliberately”.
She said that the local authority was aware that parking had been an issue in the area for quite some time.
Some sleuthing parents pinpointed a strip of road lined with screws outside a property that belongs to a resident who was well-known for clashing with parents over their parking.
John Andrews, 62, conceded that whilst his partner and him had been angered by the chaos caused by the school run, he vehemently denied the allegations which he labelled a “pathetic plot” by the parents.
“That is exactly what I think. It is absolute f***ing bullshit,” he told the publication.
“I don’t have any problem with [the school run]. But when people park across your driveway and up on the verge, you can get annoyed.”
He also said that he is currently having building work done on his property and that no construction workers have experienced any problems in parking outside.
Suffolk Police confirmed that they had received reports of the damage to tyres, with the most recent incident being on September 17.
A spokesman said: “The report was that nails or screws had been placed in the upwards direction along All Saints Road, near to the primary school.
“A similar report was received in the same area in May, which damaged two car tyres, while another report has also been received of damage of vehicle tyres (one vehicle) on four occasions between January and May of this year.”
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
