Liam Payne’s X Factor co-star warns ‘we all know the truth’ in cryptic statement after ‘dear friend’s’ death
A fellow X Factor finalist has issued a stern warning to music mogul Simon Cowell following the death of One Direction star, Liam Payne.
Payne died at the age of 31 on Wednesday after falling from the balcony of a hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The singer had been visiting the Argentinian capital to show support for former bandmate Niall Horan who’d been performing in the South American city.
Police in Buenos Aires claim they first attended the hotel where Payne was staying in response to reports “of an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol”.
Emergency medical services director Alberto Crescenti spoke to local media and said that the singer had endured “serious injuries” but declined to answer questions about the circumstances of Payne’s fall from the balcony.
Fans across the globe have shared their heartbreak through tributes on social media, and now, X Factor finalist Katie Waissel has followed suit.
However, in a cryptic turn of events, Waissel took the opportunity to take aim at X Factor boss and music mogul Cowell.
Cowell, 65, is yet to speak out publicly about Payne’s death after serving as the band’s boss following their stint on the X Factor.
Waissel said on X: “My heart is completely torn to shreds right now, I am at an absolute loss for words.
“If Simon Cowell dare put a statement out on the heart wrenching, tragic loss of my dear and darling friend Liam, he would be a fool.

“We all know the truth… and I’ll be sure it all comes out. #justiceforliam,” she cryptically stated.
GB News has contacted Cowell’s representatives for comment.
Waissel’s bitter relationship with Cowell and Syco Records stems from the fallout of her time on the show.
The singer retrained as a lawyer in 2023 in order to attempt to sue Syco for an alleged breach of duty of care.
Waissel claimed she was left with post-traumatic stress disorder following her time on the former ITV Saturday night staple.
Her time on the show saw her regularly lambasted by the public and dubbed the “most hated” contestant on the series.

Speaking to the Sunday Times in 2023, she said: “There are so many of us who have been so trapped and it’s not fair, there was a huge imbalance in power.

Payne starred alongside Waissel in the 2010 series of X Factor where he formed the band One Direction alongside Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.
The band also signed with Syco Records following their successful stint on the show where they finished third behind Rebecca Ferguson and series winner Matt Cardle.
