Dramatic moment man hits Nando’s waitress with plate in ‘unprovoked’ assault
A Nando’s waitress has been viciously attacked by a male customer while she tried to serve him.
Footage of the attack, which is circulating on social media, showed a bearded man swiping at her with a plate.
He was wearing a black beanie and dark hoodie while sitting with a woman and baby.
CCTV appeared to capture the moment the Nando’s server places another plate of food on the table.
The waitress was left stunned as she lurched backwards clutching her face.
Horrified diners turned around to watch the drama unfold.
The Nando’s server then left the scene as the man rose from his seat and walked away with the woman and child.
It is not known what triggered the violent outburst.

A woman, who claimed to be the Nando’s waitress, said on social media: “No way I’ve come onto this app and seen myself get assaulted.”
The incident was reported to the Metropolitan Police after it took place in March.
However, the woman was critical of Scotland Yard’s response.
She said: “The police were present at the time, I reported it to them and they let him go without taking his details or checking the CCTV.
“I filed a complaint against the officers and their supervisor got back to me and essentially said ‘they’re humans and made a mistake’.”
The Metropolitan Police confirmed it was “aware” of video footage of the incident.
Scotland Yard claimed it was investigating why the incident was “not progressed promptly” by officers.
A spokesman said: “A report of assault was made to police at the time of the incident, however, it appears this was not progressed promptly by officers.
“We are working to establish why this happened and accept this is not the level of service Londoners should rightfully expect from the Met.
“We have since made contact with the victim and a statement has been taken – we will endeavour to keep her updated with the progress of this investigation.
